Day tripping

There can be few things more delightful than a day driving through the countryside, exploring markets, art galleries, tea shops and more. On Monday a friend and I headed off for the afternoon to Wolfville, stopping first at Tangled Garden to wander the garden and browse their wonderful product line of jams, jellies chutneys and, new this year, ice creams!  All the herbs are grown in the gardens and most of the mixtures of flavours are supremely tantalizing.

We drove to the small village of Canning, but very little was open.  It seems to have been hard hit by the economic downturn.  The one cafe we wandered into was part art supply store, part cafe and part gallery, displaying the work of the owner Ron Hayes.
