Happy Birthday Christine!

I was up early today to make tea and toast and greet Christine on her Birthday.  We had decided to head out fairly early toward a little town on the south coast called Baltimore. The weather was clear, but rather chilly up on the bluff.  Here's the view.

The locals call this beacon, "Lot's Wife", I suppose because of the pillar of salt reference. The closest island off shore is called Shirkin Island - a popular summer holiday destination for Irish families.

We stopped for lunch at a lovely welcoming Pub called Casey's.  A fire had just been lit and we enjoyed chatting with the proprietress who had bought the place 36 years ago.
A visit by her cousin followed by a massage organized by C's daughter, then roast chicken dinner with scalloped potatoes rounded off the evening.  All in all a great way to celebrate a milestone.
