I decided I had better not let summer pass by without partaking of one of Halifax's best traditions -- Shakespeare By The Sea -- so headed down to Point Pleasant Park last night for the final performance of "The Merry Wives of Windsor". Here is the setting facing the stage;
The cast seemed well selected for the various roles and had the audience well engaged in their antics. I always prefer comedy to depressive drama. As the evening progressed, the weather got a bit chilly, but everyone had come prepared with hot drinks and blankets, although as I left, I noticed many had forgotten flashlights for the dark walk back through the park to the parking lot. Still, a lovely way to spend a summer evening!!
